If your skin is looking dull, uneven, congested or affected by pigmentation, post-blemish marks or signs of ageing, a chemical peel can be a really effective way to refresh and rejuvenate the skin.
At Skin & Aesthetics by Haleema, I offer both The Perfect Peel® and The Perfect Peel® Superblend.
Although they are from the same peel family, they are not exactly the same treatment — and I don’t believe in simply choosing the strongest peel available. The most important thing is choosing the treatment that is right for your skin.
One of My Favourite Skin Treatments
The Perfect Peel is genuinely one of my favourite treatments to perform in clinic.
When it is suitable for the patient, you can often start to see a noticeable improvement in the skin within around a week.
I particularly love it for patients who are beginning their skincare journey because it can give the skin a real reset. The peeling process helps remove built-up, dull surface skin cells and allows fresher-looking skin to come through underneath.
Once the peeling has settled, the skin can look brighter, smoother, clearer and more even in tone and texture, with further improvements developing over the following weeks.
For the right patient, it is often one of my go-to treatments because it can create a visible change relatively quickly while giving us a great starting point for a longer-term skincare plan.
What Is The Perfect Peel?
The Perfect Peel is a professional medium-depth chemical peel designed to improve overall skin tone, texture and clarity.
Its formulation includes ingredients such as:
- Glutathione
- TCA
- Salicylic acid
- Retinoic acid
- Kojic acid
- Phenol
- Vitamin C

I may consider The Perfect Peel for concerns including:
- Pigmentation and uneven skin tone
- Sun damage
- Post-acne marks
- Acne-prone skin
- Uneven texture
- Enlarged-looking pores
- Fine lines
- Dull or tired-looking skin
Visible peeling usually begins at around day three and can be more noticeable for several days before gradually settling.
What Is The Perfect Peel Superblend?
The Perfect Peel Superblend is a different formulation that works at both superficial and medium depths.
Its ingredients include:
- Glutathione
- TCA
- Salicylic acid
- Pure retinol
- Kojic acid
- Resorcinol
- Vitamin C
- Mandelic acid
- Azelaic acid
- Lactic acid
Unlike The Perfect Peel, Superblend does not contain phenol.
It can help with many of the same concerns, including pigmentation, acne and post-acne marks, fine lines, dullness and uneven skin tone and texture.
The main difference is that Superblend generally produces a milder visible peeling process, so it can be a great option when we still want effective skin rejuvenation but would prefer less intensive downtime.
Perfect Peel or Superblend: Which Would I Recommend?
This is where your consultation becomes important.
1. The Perfect Peel
I may choose this where a more intensive resurfacing treatment and more noticeable peeling are appropriate.
2. The Perfect Peel Superblend
I may choose this where I still want to improve tone, texture and pigmentation but would prefer a gentler visible peeling process.
Neither one is automatically better.
They are simply two different tools that allow me to tailor your treatment to your skin.
What Happens After the Peel?
The treatment itself is relatively quick, but most of the process happens after you leave the clinic.
Peeling commonly begins a few days later.
During this time, your skin may feel tight and areas of pigmentation can temporarily appear darker before the skin starts to shed.
One thing I always tell my patients:
Do not pick or pull the peeling skin.
Allow it to shed naturally and follow the aftercare instructions provided.
Once the peeling has settled, patients often notice that their skin looks:
- Brighter
- Smoother
- Fresher
- Clearer
- More even in tone
- More refined in texture
Your skin continues to renew after the visible peeling has finished, so I wouldn’t judge your final result after seven days alone.
Will I Need More Than One Peel?
Not necessarily.
For some patients, one peel can give the refresh they are looking for.
For others — particularly where we are treating concerns such as pigmentation, acne or more established skin changes — I may recommend a planned course alongside an appropriate home skincare routine.
I prefer to see how your skin responds before automatically recommending multiple treatments.
Are The Perfect Peel and Superblend Suitable for All Skin Tones?
Both peels can be used across a wide range of skin tones.
However, suitability still needs to be assessed individually.
If you are prone to pigmentation or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, I will take particular care when assessing your skin, skincare routine, previous treatments and medical history.
Being able to perform a peel and deciding that it is the right peel for you are two very different things.

Do I Need to Prepare My Skin First?
Not everyone needs extensive skin preparation beforehand.
However, there are times when I may recommend improving your skincare or getting the skin healthier and more stable before carrying out a peel.
I would always rather prepare your skin properly than rush you into a treatment just because it is the treatment you originally came in asking for.
What If a Peel Isn’t the Best Treatment?
Sometimes The Perfect Peel or Superblend is exactly what I would recommend.
But depending on your skin, we may also discuss treatments such as:
- Microneedling for texture and certain types of scarring.
- RF Microneedling for texture, rejuvenation and skin tightening.
- HydraFacial or Medical Facials for hydration, congestion and ongoing skin maintenance.
- Medical-grade skincare where improving the skin at home should come before an in-clinic treatment.
Sometimes the best results come from combining treatments gradually rather than trying to achieve everything with one procedure.
Which Peel Should You Book?
You do not need to decide between The Perfect Peel and Superblend yourself.
That is part of my role as your practitioner.
During your consultation, I will look at your skin, discuss what you would like to improve, review your skincare and medical history and consider how much downtime you are comfortable with.
From there, I can recommend The Perfect Peel, The Perfect Peel Superblend, another treatment or a period of skincare preparation first.
The aim isn’t to give you the strongest treatment possible.
It’s to give your skin the right treatment at the right time.
